Plan where the television will sit before choosing its size
Mark the screen on the wall and see how it fits the room at different times of day.

Test the view from the sofa
Use removable tape to mark the outside dimensions of a candidate model. Sit in the seats people use most and look for windows or lamps that may reflect in the screen. Try the same check during the day and after dark.
Leave room for what connects to it
Work out where the streaming box, console or soundbar will sit. Check that you can reach the inputs and that the stand fits the furniture. If you want a wall mount, share the exact model and photos of the proposed wall with the installer so they can assess it before the visit.
