Keep a home appliance service record
A few notes from delivery and first use make it easier to describe a problem later.

Start the record at handover
Save the invoice, model details, installation record and instructions in one place. Write down who installed the appliance and where to request service. If a warranty requires registration, follow the instructions supplied with the purchase and keep any confirmation.
Describe what changed
When reporting an issue, note the cycle or setting, what happened, when it began and any message on the display. A photo or video can help the service team identify the problem. Follow the appliance manual and service team’s instructions while waiting for a visit.
