Get the laundry area ready for a washing machine
Measure both the space the machine occupies and the room you need to use it.

Start with the model and its instructions
Check the dimensions of the machine, including the space needed to open the door or lid. Note where the water supply, drain and suitable electrical outlet are. Take photos and share them with the delivery or installation team so they can advise on the preparation for that model.
Plan for a normal load
Try carrying a full laundry basket along the route and putting it down where you expect to load the machine. Check that doors and shelves stay usable. Ask what the installation includes and keep the model instructions nearby when the installer shows you the first cycle.
